Habitat
Open woodland, hedgerows, scrub, moorland and gardens.
Foodplant
Poplars and willows.
Lifestage data
Overwinters as a pupa which is spun in a very hard cocoon that is attached to the tree trunk or a nearby post. Larva July-September.
